The Everyday Harmony of Resti’s Family

Even with her full schedule in the music industry, Resti Sundari Suntoso always makes time for what matters most: her family. With her husband Miftahudin, an architect, and their curious three-year-old daughter, Mala, she tries to move through each day with purpose—finding a balance between work, parenting, and the small joys they share as a family.

Her work often brings her to different places, but home is where she feels most present, especially while watching Mala grow. Their days are filled with simple routines—weekly movie nights (Mala’s one screen day), watching live music together, and spending time outdoors, from the beach to the forest.

Two things they never skip: a twenty-second family hug, and sharing one thing they’re grateful for before bed.

Sejauh Mata Memandang motifs have become part of their everyday. “Ombak Laut” was the first piece Resti chose, drawn to its reminder that nature is something we all need to protect. Her favorite remains “Ombak Laut Tenun”, with its soft waves hidden in the weave. For Mala’s second birthday, Resti picked the “Rimba” motif, Mala loves spotting the little stars, while Resti sees it as a reflection of the ecosystems we need to care for.

At home, they start small—reusing bottles, turning off unused lights, and being more mindful of what they buy. In 2024, Resti joined a climate campaign in Bali, where music met action through tree planting and community effort.

For Resti and her family, looking after the earth is simply part of looking after each other.
