Why we love Pagi-Sore design
Pagi means morning and sore means late afternoon.
Batik Pagi-Sore has two different designs in one Kain divided diagonally.
It was created to save money during the hard times of the Japanese occupation of Indonesia (1942 - 1945).
The brighter colour is the pagi motif, to be worn in the morning with the motif shown in front, while the darker colour is the sore motif to be worn in the late afternoon.

LEUSER - FOREST RESTORATION PROGRAM

Uniting the realms of fashion and eco-consciousness, Sejauh Mata Memandang partners with the HAkA Foundation and the Leuser Conservation Forum to safeguard and rejuvenate the vital Leuser Ecosystem Area in East Aceh. Together with the committed #SahabatSejauh, this alliance strives to maintain the precious home of endangered species such as Sumatran elephants, tigers, rhinos, and orangutans. Embrace this unique fusion of style and environmental stewardship and contribute to building a harmonious and sustainable future for all.

DAUR ULANG PROGRAM

Sejauh Mata Memandang, in collaboration with EcoTouch, has been running a clothing recycling program since 2021. #SahabatSejauh can send us their unwearable clothes to be recycled. The collected garments will be sorted and processed into various recycled materials such as partition fibers, insulators, sound absorbers, yarns, and fabrics.

About Us

Sejauh Mata Memandang, an Indonesian textile label founded in 2014 by the visionary Chitra Subyakto, welcomes you. Our brand embodies slow and circular fashion principles, seamlessly blending traditional Indonesian textiles with contemporary flair.

Chitra's mission is to make traditional Indonesian fabrics appealing to younger generations by artfully contrasting cultural heritage with casual modernity. Our signature motifs are inspired by the natural beauty around us and are meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans from Java, Bali, and Sumba.

Each piece in the Sejauh Mata Memandang collection is intended to be timeless, versatile, and wearable. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in the materials we use, which include cotton, linen, Tencel, and recycled textiles sourced from both pre- and post-consumer waste. We contribute to a circular economy and help protect the environment by repurposing these materials.

We collaborate with like-minded organizations as a responsible textile label to reduce textile waste, preserve the environment, and empower communities.
