At Sejauh Mata Memandang, we are celebrating World Environment Day 2024 with an evocative and interactive exhibition titled "Bumi, Masa Depan Kita" at Grand Indonesia, running from June 13 to August 18, 2024. In collaboration with the visionary creative director Felix Tjahyadi, we have crafted an experience that speaks to the heart and soul.

In the Rama Atrium, Grand Indonesia East Mall, LG floor, we have created an Earth installation using upcycled fabric scraps from our production. This installation beautifully portrays the vast oceans and continents, serving as a poignant reminder of our planet's fragile state. Through this exhibition, we strive to underscore the urgent need for awareness and meaningful action to heal our Earth. We invite everyone to join us in adopting a more responsible lifestyle, embracing circular practices for the greater good.

Our exhibition is graced by the support of Dekranasda DKI Jakarta, aligning perfectly with the 497th anniversary of Jakarta on June 22, 2024. To honor this occasion, we've infused the exhibit with the cultural essence of Betawi, adorning our Earth installation with enchanting kembang kelape decorations.

"Bumi, Masa Depan Kita" is a part of WONDERLAB, a multisensory event presented by Genexyz, the creators of Metahuman™️, and Grand Indonesia. In our exhibition area, Genexyz's Metahuman™️, LavCaca, delivers compelling messages, urging visitors to actively contribute to a brighter, more responsible future for our planet.

Our exhibition offers a range of interactive activities. Visitors can donate their used clothing to a designated dropbox, where EcoTouch will recycle them into room dividers, sound absorbers, and yarn. We also feature a repair station called “Kembali Baik,” a collaboration with Mulih, an online repair service based in Jakarta. Here, visitors can bring their damaged clothing for repairs, promoting the spirit of reuse and renewal.

At our Warung Pop-Up Sejauh Mata Memandang, constructed from 90% reused and recycled materials, visitors can explore a diverse array of products, from clothing and fabric to accessories. Each purchase contributes to planting a tree in the Leuser Ecosystem Area, East Aceh, and supports the Women Rangers Aceh, a movement dedicated to forest conservation.

For this special event, we are introducing "Jual Kembali," a resell program for customers wishing to sell their pre-loved Sejauh Mata Memandang items. This initiative aims to reduce waste, support a conscious consumption, and ensure each Sejauh item can find a new owner. Additionally, we are offering our archive and sample items, as well as pieces with minor imperfections, giving them a second chance to inspire and delight.

Additionally, we are thrilled to unveil our new pattern, "Pesan Bumi," available exclusively at this Warung Pop-Up. This pattern draws inspiration from the heartfelt drawings and writings of visitors to our "Kisah Punah Kita" exhibition at ARTJOG 2022, Indonesia's premier art festival, in Yogyakarta. At the "Kisah Punah Kita" exhibition, we presented moving reminders of the human-induced threats to our planet's flora and fauna, encouraging deep reflection. We then invited each visitor to pen their messages to Earth. These messages, filled with hope and determination for a better future, have been transformed into beautiful designs on women's and men's short-sleeve shirts, bags, pouches, and more.

The creation of the "Pesan Bumi" pattern has been a labor of love, realized in partnership with our Keluarga Sejauh–textile printing collaborator in Tangerang. They are committed to responsible and eco-friendly production processes, using GOTS-certified cotton and ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®️ certified dyes.
