"Tarum" draws its name from the indigo plant (Indigofera tinctoria), renowned for its blue hue. The rich blue color takes center stage in this denim collection. The crafting of the "Tarum" collection involves four types of threads, including recycled thread obtained through a recycling program that collects discarded clothing, an initiative led by SMM in collaboration with EcoTouch.id, hand-spun cotton thread, and two threads dyed with indigo and secang wood, resulting in shades of blue and reddish-brown.

These threads are then woven into denim fabric using hand-woven techniques, characterized by the presence of red selvedge thread stitches.

"Tarum" is a further exploration of the "Baur" collection, where in the design process, we also considered the final product, minimal water usage, and also the circular as well as the nature-positive approaches.
