Growing Through It Together: Alda and Zikri's Love Journey

When Alda and Zikri first met at an office event, it didn’t feel like anything out of the ordinary. It was a simple introduction, one that could have easily been forgotten. But something about that moment stayed: a sense of ease that quietly carried forward.

Not long after, they met again at an airport, at a time when they were both traveling for work. It was their first date, but it didn’t feel like a typical one because it wasn’t something they had planned. But, the moment stayed with them, in a way that only became clear later.

A year into their relationship, they chose to get married. Over time, they came to realize that understanding one another doesn’t happen all at once. It continues, even after marriage.

For them, being in a relationship is not about avoiding mistakes, but about how they move through them. Choosing to stay positive, not holding onto suspicion, and having the willingness to say sorry even when it feels difficult are things they continue to practice.

That same approach shapes how Alda moves through her daily life. Inspired by Lauren Singer, she believes that change can begin from small, consistent habits. She tries to be more mindful through everyday actions, such as reducing plastic use, sorting waste, and being more aware of what she chooses to support.

Her connection with Sejauh Mata Memandang came from similar considerations. She was drawn to pieces that feel versatile, something that can be worn across different occasions without feeling easily replaced.

For their engagement, Alda and Zikri chose to wear the Kebaya Puan “Wiji” and the long-sleeve “Wiji” shirt as a couple. It was a meaningful moment for them, and the pieces became part of that memory.

In many ways, what they are building together reflects how they choose to live: not defined by big gestures, but by the willingness to keep showing up with intention, care, and a sense of trust that continues to grow over time.
