Together Beyond Distance: Haifa’s Family

Even miles apart, Haifa and her family have always found their way to stay close. For almost five years, she and her husband have lived in different cities. His job often takes him from one place to another, while Haifa stays in Lampung with their daughter. Even so, the distance has only made their time together feel more precious.

“Simple things like spending a day off together have become our version of quality time. We feel so grateful every time we can be together. A little thing means a lot for us,” Haifa said.

Maybe that’s why they cherish every moment they share. On birthdays or other celebrations, they have a sweet tradition: going to a photo studio to capture their togetherness. This year, they chose Sejauh Mata Memandang’s “Ayam” motif for their session, a simple choice that feels full of meaning.

For Haifa and her husband, one of the most meaningful times in their lives was watching their daughter grow. She was born earlier than expected, and that time became a journey of prayers and hope. They even went all the way to Jakarta to find the best pediatric care. Now, their daughter is growing up healthy, bright, and full of joy. From that experience, they learned a lot about patience, hope, and the quiet strength that comes from love.

At home, Haifa keeps life simple. Between work and daily routines, they try to stay present for each other, and for the earth they live on. She practices small mindful habits like using water mindfully, never littering, and bringing her own tumbler and cutlery to avoid single-use items.

For Haifa, those small acts are her way of showing love for her family, and for the planet, the only home we all share.
