Sejauh Family: Putri Eka Siagian

Sunday mornings are always special for Putri and her family. They begin the day with worship at church, followed by visits to new restaurants or coffee shops. Conversations flow effortlessly—lighthearted stories, shared laughter, and the challenges of the past week. Moments like these are what she looks forward to the most.

One of Putri’s most memorable holiday experiences was traveling to her hometown when she was a child. She and her sisters were introduced to their father’s childhood—exploring the rice fields, learning about the land, and listening to family stories. These moments, surrounded by nature, always felt meaningful for her.

Among the many motifs of Sejauh Mata Memandang, “Timun Mas” holds a special place in Putri’s heart. She grew up with Indonesian folklore, including the tale of Timun Mas, one of her parents’ favorite bedtime stories. During family gatherings, they choose to wear Sejauh Mata Memandang collections in red and blue. Her father in a “Bija-Perahu Sawah” sarong, her mother in a “Tambal” wrap skirt, while Putri and her sisters coordinate in Wiji Kebaya Puan and “Tambal Lereng” wrap skirts.

Caring for the environment is also an essential part of their daily lives. Small actions such as bringing reusable shopping bags, choosing a product with eco-friendly packaging, and conserving energy have become habits. They also sort waste for recycling and grow various edible plants at home, including chili, kaffir lime, papaya, and dragon fruit. For Putri, tending to these plants isn’t just about having fresh ingredients at home. It’s a small, meaningful way to care for the earth.
