Why We Loved Pagi-Sore Design
Pagi means morning, and sore means late afternoon.
Batik Pagi-Sore features two distinct designs on one piece of kain, divided diagonally.
It was created to save money during the difficult times of the Japanese occupation in Indonesia (1942-1945).
The brighter color represents the pagi motif, intended to be worn in the morning with the motif shown in front, while the darker color represents the sore motif, meant to be worn in the late afternoon or evening.
