Sejauh Mata Memandang Presents Special Film “Pulang” and the “Puspa” Collection at Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week 2025
On Sunday, 28 September 2025, Sejauh Mata Memandang opened Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week with a special presentation: the short film tittled Pulang. Created in collaboration with LynxFilms, Pulang was written and directed by Kathleen Malay, starring Widuri Puteri, with narration by Reda Gaudiamo. “Pulang” is a poetic journey back, not to a house, but to our origins: the earth, the body, and memory. Told in six layers, the film reflects on the call to return, the scars of exploitation, the vital role of women, and the hope that emerges when we choose to care and give back
As shared by our Founder and Creative Director, Chitra Subyakto, who also served as Executive Producer of the film, Pulang is an invitation to rethink our relationship with nature and a reminder that every small action, no matter how small, carries meaning and impact.
Alongside the screening, we also welcome you to a refreshed chapter of Dari Bumi, Untuk Bumi exhibition in The Space, Level 2, Plaza Indonesia, presented through a new concept installation in soft shades of pink that introduced the PUSPA Collection. The collection begins with cotton grown and spun into threads by Sekar Kawung’s farmers in Tuban, the threads were then handwoven on non-mechanical looms (ATBM) by Craft Denim in Pekalongan, bringing Sejauh’s signature “Ombak Laut” motif. Complementing this, the collection also presents hand-stamped batik fabrics with the “Ayam” motif by Mugi Batik. The collection is naturally hand-dyed with sappanwood and candlenut, giving both the woven and batik textiles fuchsia and soft pink hues.
Other than that, we also bring back two collaborations. The collaborative collection between BIASA and Studio Sejauh returns through a dedicated display, serving as a reminder of the collaboration previously presented on the runway of Plaza Indonesia Men’s Fashion Week (PIMFW) 2024. We also launched the second release of the Sejauh Mata Memandang × TULUS collection, continuing a creative journey that was warmly received.
